We are delighted to announce that our CEO and founder, Martin Neale, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Enterprise Awards 2025, celebrating the boldest and brightest leaders in UK tech innovation.

A Journey of Innovation and Growth
Martin's entrepreneurial journey with ICS.AI has been nothing short of remarkable. From its inception, Martin has steered the company to become one of the UK's fastest-growing AI companies, specialising in public sector solutions. This recognition places him among Britain's most innovative tech founders, an achievement that reflects his vision, determination, and leadership.
Moving to the UK from Jamaica at age 12, Martin discovered his passion for technology early in life. With 35 years of experience and 22 innovations brought to market, his decision to launch ICS.AI was a bold one, cashing in his pension at age 55 and taking a significant personal risk to pursue his vision, despite having young children aged 3 and 10 at the time.
"Starting an AI company at 55, at a time when I had a young family to support, was a decision fueled by passion and a bold vision for the future. This journey has been one of growth and constant adaptation, especially with the disruptive emergence of generative AI."
The entire ICS.AI team is immensely proud of Martin's accomplishment and the spotlight it brings to our collective work in advancing AI solutions that transform public services across the UK.
About the Enterprise Awards 2025
Now in its eighth consecutive year, the SME UK Enterprise Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses throughout the United Kingdom. As a premier recognition program for small and medium-sized enterprises, these awards shine a spotlight on innovation, resilience, and excellence in British business.
The Enterprise Awards welcomes participants from all sectors of the economy – from pioneering start-ups to established industry leaders, solo entrepreneurs to thriving partnerships. Whether in manufacturing, service provision, retail, or consultancy, the awards recognise excellence across the board.
Why 2025 Matters
This year is particularly significant for technology innovators like ICS AI. With the accelerating integration of generative AI, breakthroughs in sustainability, and digital transformation reshaping how organisations operate, 2025 is redefining the innovation landscape for SMEs.
Looking Forward
For Martin and the entire ICS.AI team, this recognition serves not just as validation of our past work but as inspiration for the road ahead. Under Martin's leadership, ICS.AI has achieved remarkable growth, scaling from 29 to 69 team members this year with plans to reach 150 next year. Our SMART: platform has become the UK's #1 AI Assistant by market share in local government, processing over 3.9 million self-serve requests last year with a 92% average success rate.
As we continue our journey, Martin's leadership has been instrumental in addressing what we call the "AI Adoption Gap" - the growing chasm between AI's potential and its practical implementation at scale in the public sector. Under Martin's guidance, ICS.AI has developed a platform approach that transforms how public organisations adopt AI, moving beyond fragmented pilots to comprehensive solutions that enable consistent, governed, and economical scaling. This aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering financially sustainable public services that work for everyone.
Our clients have experienced transformative results, including up to 5,800% ROI, 40% + call deflection through AI-powered customer service, and multi-million pound financial impacts for organisations like Derby City Council and Coleg Y Cymoedd.
As we continue to develop cutting-edge AI solutions for the public sector, we remain committed to Martin's founding vision: creating technology that enables 24/7 public access to essential services while maintaining meaningful human connections and delivering financially sustainable public services that work for everyone.
We will keep you updated on the final results of the Enterprise Awards 2025, but in the meantime, please join us in congratulating Martin on this outstanding achievement!
