Transforming College Student retention with AI and Machine Learning
New College Lanarkshire (NCL) has pioneered the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to transform student recruitment, retention, and outcomes. Collaborating with ICS.AI, the college implemented cutting-edge ML models to analyse student data, identify at-risk cohorts, and deploy timely interventions.
NCL faced significant challenges in improving student retention and recruitment, including cyclical spikes in service demand, recruitment pressures affecting staff capacity, and uncertainty about identifying students with the greatest needs. The aim was to enhance student satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes amid staffing limitations and a lack of targeted assistance.
We were joined by New College Lanarkshire at a webinar to talk about their success with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in transforming student recruitment and retention.
